The Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy (Inteko y’Umuco) recently organized a competition focused on Rwandan culture, values, and heritage for international schools in Kigali. The competition took place on 10 May 2024
The event saw participation from five students representing SPIS: Micomyiza Louange (S6), Ngabonziza Yusufu (S5), Keza Gaële (S5), and Cyusa Danthé (S2). Various prizes were awarded to participants, including cash prizes, certificates, and Kinyarwanda books, with the top prize being
SPIS secured third place in the competition.
Reflecting on the experience, Ngabonziza Yusufu highlighted the significance of the event: “Participating in the competition has reminded us of the importance of preserving the culture and heritage of our common ancestors. Our culture and heritage represent the identity of our country. It is our pride and responsibility to spread this culture and heritage to all corners of the country, just as the Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy introduced it to international students.”
