The Mourning of Friends and Fathers during the 2025–2026 School Year

The 2025–2026 school year was marked by great sadness at Saint Paul International School following the passing of two cherished members of the school community: Mr. Terence Gale and Mr. Francis A. Clivaz of swiss nationalities.

Their deaths brought deep sorrow to the entire school family.Mr. Terence Gale passed away during the first term. He was a valued friend, partner, and passionate advocate for education. The school paid tribute to him by saying:

“We are deeply grateful for his legacy and lasting contributions to Cambridge International Education, which have empowered and inspired young learners in Rwanda. His impact will never be forgotten.”

Mr. Francis A. Clivaz passed away during the second term, in February 2026. Affectionately regarded as the school’s grandfather, he left behind a legacy of love, generosity, kindness, and unwavering support. He was deeply devoted to the school and its students.

To honour their memories, the school organised a memorial Mass attended by Father Consolateur (the school’s representative), members of the school administration, students, parents, and staff. During the Mass, Father Consolateur shared the lives and achievements of Mr. Terence Gale and Mr. Francis A. Clivaz, highlighting their important contributions and dedicated service to the school community. He also reminded everyone of the deep love that Mr. Francis Clivaz had for the school and its students, noting that he always kept the school and every member of its community in his thoughts.

The Saint Paul International School community will continue to remember Mr. Terence Gale and Mr. Francis A. Clivaz with profound gratitude, respect, and affection. Their legacy will remain an inspiration to future generations.
